In short
- Your PDFs never leave your device. ChartRip works entirely offline.
- No data is collected, not even anonymously. No analytics, tracking, or crash reporting.
- No ads, no subscription, no account. Not now, not ever.
What ChartRip stores on your device
- Settings: your instruments, file-name template, export folders, and last-used choices.
- Folder cache: for folders you analyze, file names, sizes, modified times, and detected parts, so unchanged files aren't analyzed again.
- Your library: charts you work on are kept in the app so you can open them again: a copy of each PDF, its title, composer and detected parts, and the ensembles and set lists you make. You can remove any chart from the library at any time; removing it deletes the app's copy and never touches your original file. If you choose to shrink a large PDF (Settings > File size), the library keeps the smaller copy, made on your device, instead of the original.
All of it lives in the app's data folder on your device and is never sent anywhere. Deleting that folder, or the app, removes it.
What ChartRip does with your files
ChartRip reads the PDFs you choose, finds parts using the text in the file or on-device text recognition (OCR, with models bundled in the app), and writes new PDFs only to folders you choose. Your original files are never changed. Charts you export or edit are also copied into the app's own library (see above); that copy stays on your device.
What ChartRip does not do
- Make network connections, or send anything to anyone.
- Collect, sell, or share personal data.
- Include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code.
- Ask you to sign in, create an account, or connect a social media account.
Third parties
No third party receives data from ChartRip. You buy ChartRip from an app store (Apple, Google or Microsoft), separately for each platform; the store handles your purchase, payment and account under its own policy, and ChartRip never sees any of it. If you save exports to a folder synced by iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, or similar, that service is run by your operating system or provider under their own policy, not by ChartRip.
Children
ChartRip collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this statement changes, the date above changes. The promises above are permanent: ChartRip will never collect data, show ads, require an account, or use a subscription.
